Abstract

Retrograde jejunogastric intussusception (RJGI) is a very rare complication that can follow gastric surgeries, especially gastrojejunostomy. Since this is a potentially fatal condition, emergency surgical intervention is mandatory. We report the case of a 38 year old lady who presented with vomiting of one month duration. Even though she gave history of previous gastric surgery, none of the preoperative investigative modalities led us to anticipate the subsequent postoperative finding. Laparotomy revealed retrograde jejunogastric intususception which was manually reduced.

Key words: Jejunogastric intususception, intususception, gastrojejunostomy, intestinal obstruction
